Little things that make my life worth living

I get up in the morning, with a feeling of hope and hopeless at the same time. Feelings of hope ,as it is   beginning of  a new day and hopelessness, because of thoughts of all the evils; like death, rape discrimination, illnesses which keep lingering. I sit on the chair , in the balcony, my favorite place in the house,  I am coming to the title of the blog now..(its important to mention haha) so I sit and feel like I am hugged in the morning by the sunlight when the warm rays touch my skin, it feels like I am given a good morning kiss from a loved one. Then I admire the beauty of the sky and the depth of the water in the lake visible from our balcony. There is a cup of coffee in my hand and there is an extra sense of taste and fragrance in it when I brew it.

So this was the first thing which makes my morning worth everyday. Let me  skip to the second thing as other things in my day will bore you all, haha. The second little  thing which brightens my day is when  I go to make tea in the evening and experiment by putting different things in the tea like ginger, cardamom and when i see the tea boiling and smell that fragrance I get a feeling of satisfaction and joy making my dull evening a little beautiful.

The final thing which ends my day with a smile is when me and mom discuss the happenings of the day and she reassures me that no matter what happens she is always by my side, this gives me courage to face the next day.

We are  living in the pandemic times and in this tech savvy  world wherein we are feeling increasingly lonely, isolated and anxious and there are growing mental health issues  and we have to find ways to alleviate the stress. There are various studies conducted in the field of psychology and mental health which have studied the psychological impact of the pandemic on the well-being of others. One of them was a study by  Viviana Horigian and collogues  from the University of Miami on the psychological impact of the coronavirus pandemic on young adults  which found an significant increase in loneliness since the arrival of COVID-19.

I feel that we need to cherish small things which are so amazing and accept the uncertainty of life and I am writing this blog to help myself along with you all to  cope with the mundaneness of everyday life. Please look forward for part 2 of this blog!!
